In the department, the junior and senior year courses focus on International Relations, Political Theory, Turkish Politics and Comparative Politics. Those courses are departmental elective courses, mostly students choose according to their interests in the political science field. These courses alter in each academic semester. Therefore, the students should take a look at the syllabi of the courses or ask for information from professors in advance.

Internship is not obligatory for students. Yet, not few of them decide to work as interns in several firms and institutions. Especially, those students seek to be employed in private sector and in media sector prefer to gain experience as apprentices. Also, the public institutions such as Parliament and Foreign Ministry offer apprentices for those planning to be employed in public sector.

The data collection, in which fields our graduates mostly employed, continues. Yet, our graduates continue their graduate education in prominent universities of the globe. In addition to that, they have been employed in international institutions, in different public institutions, especially in Foreign Affairs Ministry, in media sector, in different areas of private sector and in civil society organisations.

The students could pursue double major program with Economics and Management departments from Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology and History departments from Faculty of Natural Sciences and Literature, if they fulfil the necessary requirements. Summer schools are optional for students in order to take courses, those do not be offered in Fall and Spring semesters or repeat their failed courses. It is not mandatory. But it is preferential for double major students. The students should pay a constant registration fee and an amount for each credit they take, those determined by the Faculty Executive Committee towards the end of each Spring semester. The Summer School offers a substantial course menu, especially due to the visiting professors and instructors from abroad and from other universities in Turkey.

The department does not demand students to learn another foreign language. However, those pupils, who would like to learn new foreign languages or build up their knowledge in a familiar language could do so. These courses will be counted as their unrestricted elective courses. Moreover, the foreign language courses of which codes start with 4 would be counted as complementary elective courses. The university offers students a widespread alternative of foreign language courses.
