Mission statement

We utilize computational tools to solve fundamental puzzles in political science. Our research seeks to quantify the complexities of political life by applying rigorous analysis to unstructured data. We use social network analysis, natural language processing, and machine learning techniques to uncover patterns that traditional methods might miss.

Our lab functions as a training ground where undergraduate and graduate students learn computational techniques to turn massive datasets into clear, evidence-based narratives. Our alumni have secured graduate positions at top-tier institutions like Oxford, UChicago, Northwestern, and Penn State, along with professional placements at major organizations like the UNDP or Tik Tok.

How to join the lab?

Our lab is a collaborative space for students to gain hands-on research experience. We welcome students from Political Science, Computer Science, Sociology, and related fields.

Do I need to know how to code?

Ideally, yes. Familiarity with R or Python allows you to jump straight into data collection and analysis. However, if you are a strong student with a high aptitude for learning technical tools, we can provide the mentorship to get you up to speed.
