"The One-State/Two-States Controversy in post-1917 Palestine/Israel:
Nationalism, Liberalism, Marxism, Bi-Nationalism"

Abstract

This seminar surveys the competing reasonings applied to the Palestine/Israel question by some of its participants and observers since the British post-Ottoman publication of the Balfour Declaration in 1917. While the demographics and configuration of power have shifted dramatically during the past 100 years, the debate over the core issues, including the solutions proposed, have remained largely intact.
